Barney Lawrence

Barney Lawrence is currently a Senior Consultant at Simpson Associates. Barney has over 8 years of experience in the field of business intelligence and data warehousing.

Previously, they worked as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer and Team Lead at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays from July 2019 to May 2022. There, they focused on overseas data and worked with an on-premises SQL Server based data warehouse. Barney combined data sources to provide passenger information for emergency reporting and other in-resort information, such as complaints, changes of accommodation, and airport transfers.

In addition to their work at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Barney has also carried out investigatory work using Data Vault modelling with Snowflake and Apache Airflow in the cloud. Barney has also done wider ranging performance analysis and improvements to maintain data warehouse performance.

Before their work in the private sector, Barney served as the Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse Manager at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust from September 2014 to July 2019.

Barney Lawrence earned a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Bristol.
