Makiko Harunari

Makiko Harunari is a Partner and Head of Asia Banking and Credit at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where since October 2007, expertise has been applied in complex cross-border financing transactions across the Asia Pacific region, including acquisition finance and project finance. As a Registered Foreign Lawyer based in Hong Kong, Makiko excels in negotiation, drafting, and leadership, delivering innovative solutions to clients. Prior experience includes consulting for The World Bank in 2006-2007 and serving as a Business Analyst at Goldman Sachs from 2001 to 2004. Makiko holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.), cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Economics from Yale University, along with being a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2004.
