James Wong Hong Hian

James Wong Hong Hian has a diverse background with extensive experience in leadership, research, and safety training. Currently serving as a Rota Commander at the Singapore Civil Defence Force since May 2022, James previously held positions as a Research Intern at Chrysalists Pte Ltd, where contributions included conducting interviews on the impacts of Covid-19 and co-authoring an E-Book. Prior to this, James was an Outdoor Instructor at Asian Detours, facilitating safety programs and events related to safe riding in Singapore. James's earlier experience as a Pilot Trainee with the Singapore Armed Forces included rigorous training; however, an injury during training led to a termination after six months of flying the PC-21. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Global Affairs from Nanyang Technological University and completed advanced level studies at Hwa Chong Institution.
