Lim Soon Chong

Board Member at Singapore Land Authority

Lim Soon Chong is a board member at the Singapore Land Authority. Lim has also worked as a lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic and the Institute of Technical Education. In 2009, they began working as a researcher at NUS Enterprise.

Soon Chong has always been passionate about teaching and helping others learn. In their role as a lecturer, they taught modules on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cyber-security, Information Technology (IT), and mentored young adults in inculcating 21st century skills. Lim utilized pedagogies such as synchronous and asynchronous learning, and flipped classroom in both face-to-face as well as online settings to engage learners.

In 2012, they joined the Institute of Technical Education where they continued their work as a lecturer, teaching modules on Cyber-security/Network Security, Cloud Computing and Information Technology. In their quest to develop the potential in every child, they facilitated experiential learning and encouraged a "hands-on, hearts-on, minds-on" approach to equip them with lifelong learning skills to be "work-ready and world-ready".

Lim Soon Chong has a Master's degree in Geomatics from UCL and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
