Marcus Ang's work experience includes various roles in the field of ophthalmology. Marcus began their career as a Honorary Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London from 2015 to 2018. In 2019, they joined Duke-NUS Medical School as an Associate Professor. In the same year, they also became a member of the Board of Directors at Orbis International. In 2020, Marcus Ang joined the Singapore National Eye Centre as a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and later took on the roles of Head of Cornea & External Eye Diseases and Head of Refractive Surgery. In 2022, they became the Chair of Orbis Singapore. Additionally, in 2023, they took on the role of President at the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology. In 2006, Marcus Ang served as the Director and Head of Vision at Global Clinic Limited.
Marcus Ang received their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the National University of Singapore. Marcus is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ophthalmology at the University of Groningen. Marcus also holds an MMED degree in Ophthalmology from the National University of Singapore, as well as a Master's degree in Clinical Investigation (MCI) from the same institution. Marcus obtained a certification in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Marcus completed their secondary education at Raffles Institution.

Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) is the designated national centre within the public sector healthcare network, and spearheads and coordinates the provision of specialised ophthalmological services with emphasis on quality education and research. Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) is the national research institute for ophthalmic and vision research in Singapore.
