Michael Girard has a diverse work experience in the medical and research field. Michael is currently an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School since December 2020. Michael is also a Principal Investigator and Head of the Ophthalmic Engineering & Innovation Laboratory at Singapore National Eye Centre since July 2020. At the same organization, they hold the position of Co-Head of the Bioengineering and Devices Research Group since 2012. Michael is also an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel since December 2020. Previously, they founded Abyss Processing in 2015. Michael Girard earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University, completing their studies from 2003 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Universitaire de Lyon, which they pursued from 1998 to 2003.
