Professor Robbie Goh was appointed Provost of the Singapore University of Social Sciences in Oct 2021.
He has served on the Board of the Metropolitan YMCA (including as Second Vice-President) and was co-chair of the NUS Resilience and Growth Innovation Challenge to fund student social innovations during the COVID-19 period in his capacity as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and a Professor of Literature in the department of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
His teaching and research interests include Christianity in Asia/Asian Diasporas, Indian Anglophone Literature, Race and Ethnicity in Popular Culture, as well as the Bible in Literature/Popular Culture. Outside of academia, Professor Goh has been active in church work and volunteerism, having done volunteer work with schools and orphanages in India.
Professor Goh obtained his B.A. Honours (1st Class, direct honours, 1988) and M.A. (1989) from NUS, and his PhD from the University of Chicago (1993). He was awarded the Fulbright Fellowship in 1998.
