Andrew Murphy

Andrew Murphy is a Senior Spacecraft Engineer at Optus, where responsibilities include orbital operations and propulsion system engineering as part of the Satellite Operations team, ensuring 24/7 real-time operations for a fleet of geostationary satellites. Previous roles at Optus encompassed graduate positions in satellite sales, marketing, and systems engineering. Andrew gained educational experience as a Physics Teacher and Tutor at Matrix Education, emphasizing creative teaching techniques for Year 11 and 12 students. Additional experience includes a Summer Vacation Scholar position at CSIRO, conducting research on the Cosmic Dawn, and a research thesis at UNSW under Professor Nicole Kessissoglou. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering (Honours) from UNSW.
