Maurice McCarthy

Managing Director, Customer Success at Optus

Maurice McCarthy is an experienced telecommunications executive who joined Optus in August 2017 as Vice President, Retail and Channel Sales. In 2021, Maurice was appointed Managing Director, Customer Success.

Customer Success drives Optus’ customer strategy to become Australia’s most loved everyday brand with lasting customer relationships by bringing our customer Channels together and increasing collaboration to support all Consumer distribution channels including Digital Channels, Branded & Non-Branded Retail Channels, Regional and our Contact Centres.

Maurice has spent the last 20 years working in the technology and telecommunications industry. Maurice brings a deep passion and strong background in leading enterprises and large enterprise divisions. Having commenced his career in Ireland, He has worked across the Pacific and Europe.

Prior to joining Optus, Maurice spent 8 years working across the South Pacific where he held a number of executive roles including CEO of Digicel PNG, Regional CEO of Digicel Fiji, Nauru, Samoa, Vanuatu and Tonga and CEO of Digicel Fiji.

Maurice holds a Masters of Science from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North London.
