Dr. Margaret Martin

Social Impact Fellow at Singularity University

Dr. Margaret Martin has extensive experience in social impact and community advocacy, currently serving as a Social Impact Fellow at Singularity University since August 2017, where efforts focus on closing the achievement gap for children from low-income backgrounds through research-based interventions in music-making. Prior to this role, Dr. Martin founded the Harmony Project in 2001, developing a national network of programs across seven states and collaborating with Northwestern University's Auditory Neuroscience Lab. Dr. Martin retired from Harmony Project on April 15, 2020, after contributing significantly as the Executive Director and Board Member. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Public Health and a Master of Public Health in Behavioral Sciences/Health Education and Population & Family Health from UCLA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Antioch University-Los Angeles.
