Shane Harrel has a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in various industries. Shane began their career at Pension Strategies, where they designed and tested a portable air conditioner for small private aircraft. After that, Shane joined Orbital Sciences Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed and analyzed mechanical structures and assemblies for the Minotaur family of rockets. Shane also acted as the technical point of contact for suppliers and wrote inspection and test plans. Subsequently, Shane worked at Nestle Purina as a Customer Service Engineer, where they planned and organized support requirements for production factories. Shane then transitioned to DCMA as an Aerospace Engineer, conducting systems engineering surveillance and providing technical recommendations on changes. Shane also worked at Boeing as a Mechanical Tool Design Engineer, evaluating manufacturing engineer requirements and creating detailed tool drawings. Shane later joined the University of Arizona as a Graduate Student Researcher, completing research in experimental fluid dynamics with a focus on aerodynamics. Their work involved designing and analyzing various active flow control concepts. Finally, Shane worked at Raytheon as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed and analyzed mechanical parts and assemblies, served as the Responsible Engineering Authority for airframe structures, and troubleshooted anomalies for proof of manufacturing. Shane also served as a Mechanical Engineering liaison to non-mechanical engineering groups for design integration. Currently, Shane is employed at Sion Power Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer.

Shane Harrel completed a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, starting in 2004 and ending in 2006. Shane then pursued a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona, beginning in 2014 and completing it in 2017. Additionally, Shane Harrel obtained an MBA in Business from the University of Phoenix, with studies spanning from 2008 to 2010.
