Chris Vineis has worked in the technology industry since 2001. Chris began their career at AmberWave Systems as the Director of Wafer Technology, where they directed a group that created the world's highest quality and highest throughput strained silicon wafers. Chris was also an integral member of the team that closed a technology licensing deal with Applied Materials. In 2005, they joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Technical Staff, where they were the program manager of a high-performance, nanostructured thermoelectric materials program. Chris achieved a 5x increase in electrical power density, and successfully modeled electrical and thermal properties of devices. In 2008, they moved to Wakonda Technologies as the Lead Scientist, where they were responsible for overall technology and IP development, material and device characterization, and device modeling. Chris also provided technical overviews to board members and potential investors. Finally, in 2010, they joined SiOnyx as the VP of Engineering. Their mission was to provide the most accessible digital night vision technology in the world.
Chris Vineis received their B.S.Eng. in Materials Science from the University of Pennsylvania between 1992 and 1996. Chris then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Materials Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2001. Prior to this, they attended Syosset High School and Syosset.
