Tim McCarthy

Tim McCarthy has a long and diverse work experience in the energy sector. Tim began their career at Illinois Power in 1988, where they held various roles in customer service, including Assistant Customer Service Supervisor and Customer Service Trainer. In 1999, they became the Customer Service Contact Center Manager and Director at Illinois Power, Dynegy, and AmerenIP. In 2006, they joined AmerenIP as an Energy Delivery Strategic Advisor. Tim then moved to Tipmont REMC in 2007, where they served as the Manager of Customer Service until 2009, when they were promoted to Chief Executive Officer. In 2013, they transitioned to Sioux Valley Energy, where they currently hold the position of Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. Throughout their career, Tim has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of cooperative operations and customer service.

Tim McCarthy has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications - Journalism from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, which they obtained from 1984 to 1987. Tim then pursued further education and completed a Certificate in Negotiating and Administering Labor Contracts from the University of Michigan in 2001. In the same year, they also obtained a Master's Degree in MSM - Human Resources from the University of Maryland, where they had been studying from 2001 to 2006. Furthermore, in 2006 and 2007, Tim obtained a Master Certificate in Six Sigma from Villanova University. Lastly, in 2008 and 2009, they completed the NRECA Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
