Justin Brenden, FCAS, FIA, has a diverse work experience in the actuarial field. Justin currently serves as the Chief Actuary at SiriusPoint since February 2021, where they are responsible for overseeing actuarial functions. Additionally, Justin is a Board Member at Pie Insurance since June 2022, contributing to strategic decision-making.

In their previous roles, Justin was the Executive Vice President and Chief Reserving Actuary at Third Point Re from June 2012 to February 2021. During their tenure, they played a vital role in various business functions, including actuarial pricing, reserving, underwriting, financial reporting, risk management, and strategy. Justin was responsible for setting group loss reserves and signing reserve opinions. Justin also served on the management committee and regularly presented to the Board.

Prior to Third Point Re, Justin held the position of VP and Member of the Executive Council at the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) from November 2016 to November 2019. In this volunteer role, they had specific responsibility for Professional Education and provided oversight to the activities of the CAS. The CAS is a global organization representing property/casualty actuaries.

Earlier in their career, Justin was an Actuarial Manager at Ernst & Young from July 2005 to June 2012. Justin led large-scale actuarial consulting engagements, managing various aspects of projects, including analysis, review, client communication, and results explanation. Justin was selected for the Manager to Leader Program in 2011, highlighting their leadership potential. Notably, they served as the lead analyst, project manager, and primary client contact for a significant global loss reserve opinion engagement for a Bermuda-based reinsurance and insurance company, coordinating with professionals across different locations.

Justin Brenden, FCAS, FIA, holds a BBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they majored in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, and Finance. Justin completed their bachelor's degree from 2001 to 2005. In 2023, Justin attended Imperial College Business School and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2024.

Additionally, Justin has obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2008, they became a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Justin achieved the title of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 2009. In 2013, Justin obtained the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) certification from The Institutes. Justin became a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) through the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2014 and acquired the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification from The Institutes in 2015. Justin also obtained the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) certification from The Institutes in 2015. In 2016, Justin was recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries UK (FIA). Lastly, in 2023, they obtained the Fellow of the Singapore Actuarial Society certification from the Singapore Actuarial Society.
