James West

James West has a diverse work experience in the insurance sector. Currently, they serve as the Chief Actuary and Head of Traditional Life Inforce Management at Fortitude Re since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Life Chief Actuary and Interim Head of Life Inforce Management at Fortitude Re from June 2020.

Before joining Fortitude Re, James worked at AIG from 2013 to 2020, where they held the roles of Chief Finance Actuary for Legacy Life and Annuity from January 2017 to June 2020, and Chief Finance Actuary for Domestic Life and A&H from May 2013 to January 2017.

Earlier in their career, they worked at American General Life and Accident as the Vice President and Actuary from July 2007 to May 2013. Before that, they served as an Associate Actuary at CNO Financial Group from March 2001 to July 2007.

James West attended Purdue University from 1996 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics.
