Senior Engineer - Active Network Plan and Design at SIRO Ireland

Brian McArdle has a diverse range of work experience in the telecommunications field. Brian started their career in 2009 as a Field Engineer for Surecom, working on projects for network providers such as Vodafone, Meteor, and O2. Brian was involved in the installation and configuration of Ericsson base stations, conducted site surveys, and performed various testing and configuration tasks.

In 2011, Brian joined Surecom, contracted to Ericsson, as a Change Engineer. Brian worked on the Vodafone Backhaul Evolution Program, where they were responsible for building new Ethernet/IP MW links, configuring radios for migration, and configuring TDM and ATM paths.

From 2012 to 2013, Brian worked for Surecom, contracted to E-NET, as a Field Network Engineer and First Line Support. Brian installed and commissioned fiber networks, provided support for urgent faults, and performed maintenance on the network.

Brian then joined Mainline Group Ltd, contracted to Netshare Ireland, in 2013 as a Transmission Engineer. Brian was involved in transmission planning and design for major projects, including network upgrades, topology changes, and equipment consolidation.

Finally, Brian joined SIRO in 2016 as a Senior Engineer, later becoming an Engineer in Active Network P&D. Brian managed the active network deployment plan, audited physical installations, and managed fiber cabling.

Throughout their career, Brian has consistently reported to senior management, demonstrating their ability to take on responsibilities and work autonomously.

Brian McArdle attended Technological University Dublin from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree. Brian also studied at the Institute of Technology Tallaght Dublin during the same period, earning another Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with a specialization in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. In addition to their academic qualifications, Brian also obtained certifications from Tellabs in July 2011 for the Tellabs 8600 Managed Edge System and from Ericsson in October 2009 for the Mini-Link TN & HC R4 O&M.
