Neil Tarpey has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Neil started their career as an Administrator at Ulster Bank in 2007. Neil then worked as a Sales Assistant at TOPSHOP TOPMAN, where they were responsible for stock control and assisting shoppers. In 2008, they joined Dylan Bradshaw as a Trainee Hairdresser before moving on to become a Hair Stylist. During their time at Dylan Bradshaw, they attended celebrity photo shoots, taught at the hair academy, and developed strong product knowledge. In 2013, they switched industries and worked as a Hair Stylist at Grafton Barber, where they provided excellent customer service and performed hair treatments. In 2014, they joined Ironshore Europe Limited as a Data/Office Administrator, where they compiled reports, graphs, and assisted the CEO. Currently, they are working at SIRO, where they started as a Business Intelligence Analyst in 2016 and has since been promoted to Business Intelligence Team Lead and eventually Business Intelligence Manager. In these roles, they have been responsible for evaluating business processes, developing and implementing solutions, managing budgets, and mentoring their team.
Neil Tarpey has a diverse education history spanning multiple institutions and disciplines. Neil began their education at St Mcdaras Community College from 2002 to 2007, where they did not obtain a degree or specialize in any field of study.
In 2013, Neil attended Portobello Institute and earned a FETAC Certificate in Business Planning and Management. This certification equipped him with foundational knowledge in business planning and management.
The following year, in 2014, they enrolled at Dublin Business School to pursue studies in Business/Commerce, but did not obtain a degree from this institution.
In 2015, Neil attended Technological University Dublin and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Data Analytics with Digital Marketing. This program honed their skills in data analytics and digital marketing, expanding their knowledge in these areas.
Continuing their education journey, Neil pursued a Post Graduate Diploma (PDip) in Innovation Management at the University of Galway from 2020 to 2021. This degree provided him with expertise in managing innovation within different industries.
In 2022, Neil returned to the University of Galway to further their education and is currently pursuing an Ard-Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge Fheidhmeach, which focuses on the practical application of the Irish language.
In addition to their formal degrees, Neil has obtained several certifications to enhance their skill set. These certifications include a Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) - B1 from TEG, an ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from PeopleCert, FME Advanced Training and FME Standard Desktop Training from Safe Software, DEV 320 - Apache HBase Data Model and Architecture from MapR Technologies, and HDE 100 - Apache Hadoop Essentials, also from MapR Technologies. These certifications demonstrate Neil's commitment to continuous learning and their expertise in various areas such as language proficiency, IT service management, data modeling and architecture, and big data technologies.
