Katie Glaeser

Katie Glaeser has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Katie has worked as a Director of CloudSource and Search at SirsiDynix since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of 4th Horn at Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra since 2015. Katie has also worked as a freelance musician since 1999.

In the academic field, Katie worked at Sweet Briar College where they held multiple roles, including Library Director, Assistant Director of Library Services, and Head of Content Management and Access Services. Katie was responsible for various tasks such as managing budgets, library instruction, reference services, and assessing technical services.

Additionally, they served as a Student Success Librarian at Longwood University and Head of Access & Technical Services at Sweet Briar College where they were responsible for overseeing assessment, technical services, access services, and stacks management.

Katie also has experience working as a Staff Musician - Horn II at Warren Baptist Church and as a Horn III in the Ascauga Horn Quartet. Katie also served as a Senior Library Assistant at Augusta University, where they assisted in managing access services, interlibrary loan, stacks management, and training department personnel.

Throughout their career, Katie has demonstrated a strong passion for music, analytics, resource management, team leadership, and customer service.

Katie Glaeser's education history includes several degrees and certifications. Katie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music from Excelsior University in 2010. From 2000 to 2003, they pursued coursework in Horn Performance at The University of Southern Mississippi. In 2011, they obtained a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. Then, from 2016 to 2020, they achieved a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership Studies from the University of Lynchburg.

In terms of private instruction, Katie Glaeser received training in horn performance from various instructors. Katie received private instruction from David Pyatt in 2011, Robert Pruzin at USC from 2010 to 2011, Dennis Behm at USM from 2000 to 2003, Michelle Exley-Johnson from 1998 to 2000, Rebecca Dodson-Webster in 1997, and Kristen Oden in 1997 to 1998. Additionally, they received private instruction in violin from Steven Hamm from 1998 to 2000 and Ildiko Lusk from 1994 to 1998.

Katie Glaeser has also obtained multiple certifications related to inclusivity and management. Katie obtained the certifications "Building Inclusive Work Communities" from LinkedIn in October 2022, "How to Be More Inclusive" from LinkedIn in September 2021, "Inclusive Mindset for Committed Allies" from LinkedIn in September 2021, "Managing Multiple Generations" from LinkedIn in September 2021, and "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn in September 2021.
