Umesh Sharma has extensive work experience in procurement and IT management. Umesh has held various leadership roles in companies such as Siteimprove, SimCorp, LEO Pharma, ITO-MENTORS, Tata Consultancy Services, and Consulting Engineers Corp. Umesh'sresponsibilities have included establishing global procurement functions, managing IT procurement in various categories, leading IT research projects, and delivering IT outsourcing engagements. Umesh has also led the setup of IT delivery centers and managed large-scale IT programs. Umesh Sharma has demonstrated expertise in procurement, vendor management, IT governance, and project management throughout their career.

Umesh Sharma obtained a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Aided Engineering Designs from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, between 1993 and 1995. Additionally, in May 2020, they obtained the Contract and Commercial Management Advanced Practitioner Certification (ACCM) from IACCM - archived.
