Gayuru Gunawardena

Gayuru Gunawardena has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

In 2016, they worked as a Marketing Executive at Creative Software, where they were responsible for analyzing market trends, developing strategies, organizing events, and managing social media campaigns.

In 2017, Gayuru joined Venora Group of Companies as a User Interface Designer. Gayuru collaborated with clients to understand their requirements, managed proposals, and developed concepts and layouts for product illustrations. Gayuru demonstrated strong IT skills, creativity, time management, and attention to detail.

During the same year, Gayuru also worked as an iOS Developer at Epic Lanka.

In 2019, they joined SUBCONNECT as a Software Developer and later became a Software Engineer. Gayuru played a vital role in the end-to-end development process of the Subconnect Platform, utilizing technologies such as React JS, Python, AWS, GraphQL, and Node. Gayuru contributed to front-end and back-end development, UI design, and user research.

Currently, since 2021, Gayuru works at Sitemate as a Full Stack Engineer and a Growth Lead. Their responsibilities include overseeing growth initiatives and leading the development of various projects.

Gayuru Gunawardena started their education by attending D. S. Senanayake College from 2005 to 2016, where they focused on GCE Ordinary Level Examinations in Sri Lanka. From 2015 to 2017, they attended Colombo International School, where they studied Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Applied ICT, and Business Studies. In 2018, they enrolled at RMIT University and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2020. Additionally, Gunawardena obtained a certification in Digital Tools for the Future from RMIT University in August 2020.
