Jorma Jaalivaara

Jorma Jaalivaara possesses extensive legal expertise acquired over decades of experience in various prominent roles. Currently serving as Senior Advisor and Head of Legal Affairs at Sitra since August 1999, Jorma has also contributed significantly as Corporate Counsel, member of the Executive Group, and Secretary of the Board of Directors. Prior experience includes positions as Legal Counsel at Handelsbanken Finland specializing in banking law, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions; as Legal Counsel and Head of Credit Administration at Finnish Real Estate Bank focusing on banking law and insolvency; and as Legal Counsel in multiple institutions including the Industrialization Fund of Finland, Central Bank of Savings Banks, and Vaasa Finnish Savings Bank. Jorma's educational background includes an LL.M. in European Law from the University of Helsinki and training in legal proceedings in a district court, with a Master’s degree also from the University of Helsinki.
