Jonathan Ellery

Jonathan Ellery has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Currently, they serve as the Director of Biology at Sitryx. Prior to this role, they were the Group Leader at Sitryx from January 2021 to December 2022.

In 2016, Jonathan founded Jonathan Ellery Consulting, where they provided strategic input for a UK biotechnology company with a novel screening platform. Jonathan also served as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board to a UK biotechnology company and advised on a complex multi-target global collaboration for a pharmaceutical company.

From 2018 to 2021, Jonathan worked as a Principal Scientist at Cancer Research UK Therapeutic Discovery Laboratories. During their tenure, they contributed to the organization as a valuable team member.

Jonathan served as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Orbit Discovery from November 2016 to November 2019.

Prior to that, Jonathan worked at Takeda Cambridge Ltd as a Principal Scientist from April 2007 to December 2016. In this role, they showcased expertise in assay development and screening and provided strategic assessment and management for early-stage projects.

In 2001, Jonathan joined Paradigm Therapeutics Ltd as a Senior Scientist. Here, they played a crucial role in initiating drug discovery projects and built an in vitro Pharmacology Team to support multiple projects.

Before that, they worked at CeNeS as a Research Scientist, where they enhanced the effectiveness of the molecular pharmacology team and contributed to a significant multi-million pound deal with a bio-pharmaceutical company.

Jonathan started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Kent from August 1999 to August 2000.

Jonathan Ellery has a diverse education history. Jonathan obtained a Diploma in Advanced Pharmacology from the British Pharmacological Society from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a PhD in Engineering of T Lymphocytes from the University of Kent between 1996 and 1999. Jonathan also holds a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from the University of Kent, which they earned from 1995 to 1996. In addition, Jonathan completed a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge from 1991 to 1994.

Furthermore, Jonathan has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. These include "Communicating in Times of Change" and "Mergers and Acquisitions Foundations" from LinkedIn in October 2018 and August 2018, respectively. Jonathan also acquired certifications such as "Become a Data Visualization Specialist: Concepts," "Change Management Foundations," "Leading Change," and "Data Visualization: Storytelling" from LinkedIn in 2018.
