Madelyn Walters

Madelyn Walters was elected by the students of SIU Edwardsville to serve on the SIU Board of Trustees. Her one-year term begins July 1, 2021.

A graduate of River Ridge High School, Walters, who is from Elizabeth, Illinois, is a senior majoring in business economics with a minor in pre-law. She will graduate in May 2022.

Before her election as student trustee from the Edwardsville campus, Walters served as student body president, vice president, trustee and external relations officer. She is also involved in numerous campus student organizations, including the Honors Student Association, where she is a board member; the Campus Activities Board, where she is homecoming chair; the Pre-Law Association; New Horizons, a student organization dedicated to raising disability awareness, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
