Katie Barker

Katie Barker is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Associate in Private Equity and M&A at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates since January 2021. Prior to this role, Katie worked as Legal Counsel on secondment at Hg, providing paternity cover for senior legal counsel covering M&A and deal execution. Katie has also held an Associate position in Corporate Law at Addleshaw Goddard and completed a Training Contract at Network Rail, where Katie was the first to secure a position within the in-house legal team since 1994. Additional experience includes a secondment to Dentons' Corporate team as a Trainee Solicitor. Katie holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Chester, a Legal Practice Course with MSc in Law Business and Management with Distinction from the University of Law, and practical training in Mandarin.
