Riya Mehta is a Litigation Paralegal at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates since June 2023. Previously, Riya served as a Research Intern at The Brookings Institution from September 2022 to January 2024, focusing on investigations related to the January 6th incidents and legal challenges of the previous presidential administration under Ambassador Norman Eisen. Riya held the position of Editor in Chief at Hemispheres: The Tufts University Journal of International Affairs from May 2021 to January 2024, overseeing content selection and event planning. Additionally, Riya was Co-Chair of the Tufts Community Union, working to ensure fair elections for the student body. Previous experience includes a judicial internship at Norfolk County Superior Court, research internships at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism and the Garden State Initiative, and an internship in the New Jersey General Assembly, where Riya led casework and introduced a bill on voter registration. Riya graduated from Tufts University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs.
