Ana Maria Garcia B. has worked for a variety of companies since 2007. Ana Maria began their career as a Research Associate at Universidad de los Andes, where they measured the impact of microcredit on clients of a NGO in Bogotá. In 2008, they joined Asobancaria - Colombian Banking Association- as a Senior Economist, where they analyzed and followed international regulation on financial inclusion. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as an Economist at the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (Financial watchdog), where they compared, analyzed and implemented the benchmarking of international financial access regulation. During 2012, they also worked as a Junior Expert and FIDWG Manager at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, where they led and managed the Financial Inclusion Data Working Group, identified and developed 2nd tier indicators of financial inclusion, and wrote the corresponding notes and summary reports. From 2014 to present, they have held the roles of Key Account Manager and Manager LatAm at Skaleet, and Economist at E-lectrica, a Latin American start-up focused on renewable energies, mostly on hydro-power energy.

Ana Maria Garcia B. obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia between 1999 and 2004. Ana Maria then went on to receive their MSc in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes between 2005 and 2008. Finally, they received their Master's Degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po between 2011 and 2013.
