Tom Somers

Director, UK&I at Skenario Labs

Tom Somers has worked in a variety of roles across the public and private sectors. In 2013, they began their career as a Fast Streamer with the UK Government, where they developed specialisation in financial management. In 2014, they took a secondment as a Project Manager with Arcadia Group Ltd, and then went on to work as a Health Research and Rare Diseases Policy Manager with the UK Department of Health. In 2015, they were a Funding Advisor for High Speed Rail/HS2 with the Department for Transport (DfT). In 2016, they became an Innovation and Transformation Manager with Wandle, and then a Health and Care Programmes Lead with L Marks in 2018. In 2019, they were a Startup Labs Programme Manager with Centrica Innovations, and then a Partnerships and Ecosystem Lead with Arup in 2020. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Director, UK&I with Skenariolabs, where they use huge property and financial datasets to help local authorities, property owners, managers, investors and insurers make more responsible decisions around investment and sustainability for their portfolios.

Tom Somers completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theirtory from Newcastle University between 2008 and 2011. Prior to that, they completed their A-Level in Theirtory, Physics, Mathematics, and Politics from Greenhead College between 2006 and 2008.
