Marcio Barrios

Marcio Barrios is currently a development lead at Sketch, but they have spent the majority of their career thus far at Skimlinks as a front-end tech lead. In this role, they were responsible for the overall engineering strategy across all front-end projects, including tech debts management, tech stack migration, code reusability, knowledge sharing, continuous integration, testing, analytics, monitoring, and hiring.

During their time at Skimlinks, Marcio led the creation of a Skimlinks extension for the Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) platform. Marcio also developed various other Front-End projects, including a chrome extension for publishers (React & Redux), a component library on top of our design system (React), internal React & Redux libraries to simplify common functions like data-fetching, request caching pagination, analytics, data filtering, etc., and end to end test suites (WebdriverIO, Cypress).

In addition to their work on Front-End projects, Marcio also built and maintained Python and Nodejs REST APIs, and scripts to feed the analytics suits and to support core services. Marcio worked closely with product managers and designers to create innovative new products and features and to ensure a good user experience. Marcio also provided technical support to the product and operation teams.

Lastly, Marcio mentored other Front-End developers during their time at Skimlinks.

Marcio Barrios is an engineer with a degree in computer science. Marcio specializes in software engineering and web development. Marcio also has a background in music production, sound engineering, and sound design. Marcio attended the EPITA: Ecole d'Ingénieurs en Informatique and the London School Of Sound.

Marcio Barrios reports to Luis Bosque, CTO. They work with Ivan Malagón - Development, Simon Wolf - Development, and Ruben Almeida - Development.
