Michael Gentry

Michael Gentry serves as the Writing Professor and Department Chair for the Academic Success and Tutoring department at Brigham Young University - Idaho since August 2009. In addition to this role, Michael has held various positions at BYU-Idaho, including Assistant Department Chair, Director of the Writing Center, and Director of Tutoring, notably creating the Online Tutoring Center and co-creating the Presentation Practice Center. Michael also works as an Advisor for Skill Struck and has been an Online Instructor with BYU Pathway Worldwide, teaching courses in college skills, basic writing, and ESL writing, including ENG 301. Previous experience includes roles as a content consultant for Readlee, managing an online summer program for Othello School District, and teaching English and Language Arts across multiple school districts. Michael holds an Ed.D. in Education from the University of Idaho, an MFA in Creative Writing from National University, and a BS in English Education from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
