Melissa A. has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2011 as an Operations Specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2013, they took on a role as a Research Assistant Intern/ Exercise Interventionist at the Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. Melissa also worked as an Operations and Cardiac Technician at Baystate Medical Center in 2014, and as a Community Health Worker and Exercise Instructor at Caring Health Center in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Lifestyle Coach for the Diabetes Prevention Program, as well as a Health Coach for the Chronic Disease Self Management Program. In 2017, they became a Wellness Coordinator at QuadMed Employer Onsite Health and Wellness Centers, and in 2018 they took on a role as a Remote Health Coach at Noom Inc. Most recently, they have been a Patient Advocate/Health Coach at SkinIO since 2022.

Melissa A. completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Exercise and Health Sciences from UMass Boston between 2011 and 2014. Melissa then pursued Non-Degree studies in Exercise Physiology at UCLA Extension and Physics at the MGH Institute of Health Professions between 2014 and 2015. In 2017, they obtained a Certified Personal Trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness). Melissa also obtained a Certified Health Coach certification from ACE Fitness in February 2017 and a Fitness Nutrition Certification in May 2018. In 2021, they obtained a Weight Management Specialist Certification from ACE Fitness. Additionally, they hold a Certified Nutritionist in Weight Management certification from THE FITNESS TRAINING COMPANY LIMITED, as well as a Motivational Interviewing certification. Melissa A. completed their education in 2019 with a Master of Public Health - MPH in Health Equity from Simmons College Graduate Studies.
