Lechowicz, as a Park Specialist III, performs skilled maintenance work in park facilities, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other trades. He supervises full-time and seasonal staff in a variety of maintenance tasks such as repairs to irrigation systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Lechowicz operates heavy equipment like backhoes and loaders, handles welding tasks, and manages fence installations and playground repairs. He is also responsible for ensuring the security of park buildings, conducting snow removal, and overseeing special events.
Lechowicz spends his free time hiking and exercising. You may not know this, but he dedicates his efforts to rescuing and fostering dogs. Coffee is his go-to for fuel, and he’s an avid Bears fan. His music preferences range from alternative rock to house, EDM, and dance.

The Skokie Park District takes pride in its ability to serve the more than 63,000 residents of Skokie, Illinois and its customers throughout Chicagoland. Whether protecting natural resources, preserving historical sites or providing thousands of unique recreational opportunities within its more than 240 acres of parkland, the district has offered a multitude of quality programs since 1928. In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”
