Skokie Park District
In the role of Park Specialist II, Thillet is entrusted with managing maintenance operations for park grounds, landscape areas, and athletic fields. His duties include acting as a crew leader, overseeing tasks like turf care, litter cleanup, tree pruning, and facility repairs. Thillet operates essential machinery such as mowers, snow blowers, and chain saws, and trains staff on the proper use of equipment. He ensures that parks are maintained to the highest standards by performing inspections, tracking maintenance records, and addressing any issues promptly. Thillet is also responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance, coordinating snow removal, and setting up special events and athletic fields. Additionally, he contributes to landscape construction projects and the installation of park amenities, while managing inventories and ensuring the safety of the crew.

In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”
