Walter Komor

Walter Komor has extensive experience in the broadcast and telecommunications industry, currently serving as the Head of Broadcast, Platforms and Security at Sky New Zealand since January 2007, overseeing both on-prem and cloud technical environments, as well as OTT platforms and Cyber Security initiatives. Previous roles at Sky New Zealand include Head of Broadcast Core and Network, where Walter managed a comprehensive technical environment, and Broadcast Infrastructure Manager, leading a team focused on broadcast infrastructure and satellite up-link facilities. With prior consulting experience at LSF Broadcast Services and significant design contributions at Azcar, Walter has been instrumental in major global broadcast projects. Additional experience includes serving as Board Manager for the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers, and holding various engineering roles at Bell, where Walter led the broadcast engineering team and was pivotal in the architecture of the DVB encoding network and Fibre Backhaul Network. Walter's career began as a Broadcast Technician at Global Television and progressed through various key technical roles in the industry.
