Thomas O'Brien is the Deputy Head of News at Sky News Australia since May 2018, where responsibilities include enhancing content across various Sky News channels with a focus on Australian politics and elections. Previously, O'Brien has held multiple key roles such as Major Events Executive Producer and Night Editor, overseeing significant political coverage including state and federal elections. O'Brien also served as the Canberra Bureau Chief, leading the Sky News political team and contributing to award-winning coverage. Prior experience includes roles as Media and Policy Advisor for Liberal MP Julian Leeser, Executive Producer for 'Paul Murray Live' at Australian News Channel, and various positions at Fairfax Media and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. O'Brien holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications from the University of Sydney.
