Carlos de Barnola

Carlos De Barnola has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Carlos is currently a People Management Professor at Esade, Business & Law school since 2023. Before that, they worked as an HR Director at Skydance starting from 2021. From 2019 to 2021, Carlos held the position of Chief People Officer at DDB Spain, a full-service advertising agency. Prior to this, they worked as a Freelance HR Director, providing consulting and interim management services from 2017 to 2019. Carlos also has experience as a Co-founder and Partner at BONBAR, a food concept start-up, from 2016 to 2017. Carlos has worked at Medtronic as an HR Director for Iberia and HRBP for Commercial Excellence Eu. Div from 2014 to 2016. Carlos served as the Regional HRD for South Eu Region and Emea Mkt HRBP at Tech Data from 2006 to 2013. Carlos also worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as the Spain HRD from 2003 to 2005 and as the Portugal HR & Public Relations Director from 1999 to 2003. Carlos started their career as a sales representative and first-line sales manager at Zeneca Farma Spain, followed by the role of Mexico Corporate HR Director at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Carlos also gained experience as an HR Manager at ICI.

Carlos De Barnola has a combined BBA and MBA degree in General Management and HR from Esade, which they obtained through a 5-year program. Carlos also completed an Executive Management 9-month program at IPADE Business School. In addition to their formal education, Carlos has obtained certifications such as Certified Agile HR Practitioner from Agile HR Community in 2019 and Executive & Team Coach- Accredited Coach, PCC from ICF España in 2013. Carlos has also completed courses on inspiring leadership through emotional intelligence from Case Western Reserve University in 2012 and La innovación y desarrollo en la organización from IESE Business School, University of Navarra. Carlos has also completed the PAGE Executive Course from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
