Douglas Griffin

Douglas Griffin has a diverse and extensive work experience background. Douglas is currently serving as the Skykraft Director and Chief Engineer at Skykraft since September 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at Shoal Group Pty Ltd from September 2020 to July 2021.

Douglas also held the position of Spaceflight programmes lead at UNSW Canberra at ADFA from August 2015 to March 2020. Before that, they worked at STFC as the Head of Systems Engineering Group from January 2011 to July 2015, and as a Systems Engineer from January 2001 to January 2011.

In addition to their roles at Skykraft and STFC, Douglas has also worked as a Course Lecturer at University College London from January 2012 to June 2015, as a Post Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Oxford from February 1999 to December 2000, as a Systems Engineer at Thales Alenia Space from January 1997 to December 1998, and as an Engineer at ENEA in 1996.

Douglas Griffin obtained their Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in Space from The University of Queensland from 1987 to 1990. Douglas then pursued further education at the same institution, completing a PhD in Hypersonics and Heat Transfer from 1991 to 1995.
