Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer, Re-recording Mixer at Skywalker Sound

Bob Edwards is a Sound Designer, Editor and Re-recording Mixer at Skywalker Sound. In his thirty-two years at Skywalker, Bob has contributed his audio engineering and mixing skills to narrative feature films, documentaries, television, internet projects, and film scores.

Bob was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Sound for his work on the Netflix documentary FIRE IN PARADISE (2019).

Bob has served as Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer, or Re-recording mixer on the following Sundance Film Festival Dramatic and Documentary Official Selections: ALWAYS IN SEASON (2019), AKICITA (2018), DOLORES (2017), SONGS MY BROTHERS TAUGHT ME (2015), MARMATO (2014), THIS MAY BE THE LAST TIME (2014), FRUITVALE STATION (2013), BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD (2012), ON THE ICE (2011), LA MISSION (2009), SIKUMI (2008) and FOLLOW ME HOME (1996).

ALWAYS IN SEASON was the recipient of a Sundance Special Jury Award for Moral Urgency.

FRUITVALE STATION and BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD both won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Dramatic Filmmaking in their respective years, as well as prestigious awards at the Cannes Film Festival. SIKUMI won the 2008 Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Short Filmmaking.

Bob has supervised and mixed film projects for The Redford Center and KPJR Films, including AMY TAN: UNINTENDED MEMOIR (2021), PLAYING FOR KEEPS (2020), HAPPENING: A CLEAN ENERGY REVOLUTION (2017), PAPER TIGERS (2015), TOXIC HOT SEAT (2013), THE BIG PICTURE: RETHINKING DYSLEXIA (2012) and WATERSHED: EXPLORING A NEW WATER ETHIC FOR THE NEW WEST (2012).

Other independent films Bob has contributed to include WOMEN OF THE WHITE BUFFALO (2019), LIFELINES (2019), FOSTER (2018), and THE BUFFALO HUNT (2018), and CALIFORNIA TYPEWRITER (2017).
