Michael Gates

Michael Gates is an experienced aircraft mechanic with a diverse background in aviation maintenance and instruction. Currently employed at Skyward Aviation as an Aircraft Mechanic since December 2022, Michael previously worked as a Lead Maintenance Controller at Wheels Up Private Jets from May 2021 to November 2022, and as an Instructor at Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics from October 2019 to April 2021. Former roles include Compliance Engineer at Naval Nuclear Laboratory (FMP), Aircraft Technician at Bombardier Aerospace and Atlantic Aero, and responsibilities with airframe and powerplant inspections at Pro Star Aviation. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Southern New Hampshire University, an Associate in Specialized Technology in Aeronautics from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, and an Associate in Applied Science in Forest Recreation from Paul Smith's College.
