Robert Wortman has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Robert currently holds the position of Process Development Engineer, Principal at SkyWater Technology Foundry since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Harris Corporation from 2013 to 2021, serving as a Senior Specialist in Electrical Engineering and later as a Lead Engineer in Microelectronics and Packaging Research. Additionally, Robert served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University from 2007 to 2013, where they focused on growing epitaxial nitride metal/semiconductor superlattices and investigating the ScN materials system. Robert gained valuable experience as an Intern at GE Global Research in 2005 and 2004, conducting research on Si nanowire properties and synthesis. Robert also worked as an NSF Undergraduate Research Grant recipient at the University of Virginia in 2002, focusing on the self-assembly of metal oxide nano-dots and ferromagnetic thin film/nano-dot formation under the guidance of Professor James Groves.
Robert Wortman received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 2004. Robert went on to pursue their Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Microelectronics and Nanotechnology, which they completed in 2006. Robert furthered their education at Purdue University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013.
