Ken Cherven retired four years ago as President of Bank of Tampa’s Pinellas County Division after a 30+ career in banking spanning the Tampa Bay region. Cherven’s leadership experience extends from community banks to national bank holdings and he’s overseen institutions with over $500 million in assets and up to 38 offices.

Cherven’s has been at the helm of many banking institutions including Bank of Tampa, First Community Bank of America and Premier Community Bank of Florida. In fact, he was President of Gulf Bank when it was one of the first bank’s in Florida to offer mobile banking. Throughout his career Ken continued to demonstrate the ability to lead and evolve no matter the banking and financial cycle.

Throughout his professional tenure, Cherven has always put education first. He is the founding director of St. Petersburg College’s Banking Degree program and still serves on the advisory board. Ken is the past director of the Pinellas County Education Foundation, as well as, the past national president of the American Institute of Banking in Washington, D.C..

Ken was recognized as Banker of the Year 2008 by the Florida Bankers Association.
