Kal Karran

Vice President, Operations at Skywire Networks

Kal Karran has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. From 1994 to 1997, they worked at International Telecom Ltd as a Network Planner, where they were responsible for network planning & provisioning, DMS routing translation for least cost routing, rate analysis, line cost, and other functions related to profitability. Kal achieved success in planning and deploying a fully optimized FGD Network in Seattle, WA and New York City, as well as implementing best cost routing to maximize network utilization.

From 1997 to 2000, they worked at Econophone/Destia as the Vice President of Network Planning & Cost Optimization. During this time, they advanced through a series of promotions and was responsible for the company's profitability through detailed product margin reporting, pricing analysis, least cost routing, network planning, and contract negotiations. Kal was also successful in planning and deploying a FGD network nationwide, serviced through 6 switches in the United States.

From 2000 to 2002, Kal Karran worked at Covista Communications as a Cost Optimizer, where they developed and implemented plans for network optimization, cost reductions, revenue assurance, and profitability. Kal was able to audit and groom the voice network to optimize and cut cost by approximately 30%, as well as implement best cost routing for quality and cost reduction.

Finally, from 2002 to present, Kal Karran has been with Skywire Networks as the Vice President of Operations. In this role, they are directly responsible for defining and executing cost optimization projects and network deployment. Kal provides detailed cost and performance analysis and recommendations for optimization, and project manages optimization projects to completion.

Kal Karran attended Manhattanville College from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.
