Dan Rubins is an accomplished Executive Director and Co-Founder of Hear Your Song, an organization that empowers children with serious illnesses through collaborative songwriting, a position held since January 2014. In addition to this role, Dan serves as a Theater and Film Critic for several publications since 2017 and has contributed as a Freelance Writer for LitCharts since September 2016, creating poetry guides and modern English translations of Shakespeare. Dan has extensive teaching experience, including positions as a 4th Grade Head Teacher at Williamsburg Northside School and a 5th Grade ELA Teacher at Hunter College Elementary School. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Elementary Inclusive Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master’s in Shakespeare Studies from King's College London, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education Studies from Yale University.

Co-founded by Ed Gonzalez and Sal Cinquemani in 2001, Slant Magazine has become known for its edgy, irreverent, and often funny pop cultural criticism. Using a grassroots approach, the site has carved a unique niche for itself in both the online film and music circles.
