Ginger Yifan Chen

Ginger Yifan Chen is an accomplished screenwriter and mentor with extensive experience in the film industry. Currently a BIPOC SciFi Screenwriting Lab Fellow at Justice for My Sister, Ginger develops TV pilots influenced by Afro-futurism and Indigenous-futurism while supporting fellow writers in their creative processes. As a Script Reader for Slated, Inc. and the Austin Film Festival, Ginger provides detailed screenplay coverage and constructive feedback. Previous roles include Education and Evaluation Manager at Re-Present Media, where Ginger co-developed a workshop for filmmakers, and Screenwriting Mentor at BAYCAT, focusing on career development for emerging writers. Ginger holds a degree in Screenwriting and Film/Video Production from Chapman University.
