Dipen Barot, Ph.D.

Dipen Barot, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of research and academia. Dipen is currently working at KYOCERA SLD Laser as a Research and Development Test Engineer in the Advanced Development group at the Santa Barbara Innovation Center. From 2020 to 2022, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) / University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to that, Dr. Barot worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2014 to 2020, where they worked on various projects related to laser frequency analysis, fiber-optic sensing systems, and optical phase/frequency demodulation. Dipen also spent a summer as an intern at OEwaves Inc. in 2018. Before pursuing their Ph.D., they worked as an Assistant Professor at Dharmsinh Desai University in 2013, where they conducted lectures and labs for undergraduate engineering students. Dipen also served as a Teaching Assistant at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology from 2011 to 2013, where they assisted in handling labs, tutorials, and grading exams. Throughout their career, Dr. Barot has published papers, obtained patents, and gained expertise in data analysis and presentation using MATLAB, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Dipen Barot, Ph.D. has a diverse educational background. Dipen earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Communication Engineering (ECE) from G.H.PATEL COLLEGE OF ENGG. & TECH. , V. V. NAGAR, graduating in 2009. Dipen went on to complete their Master's degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology in 2013.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Dipen pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optical Science and Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, which they completed in 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Dipen has also obtained several certifications. Notable certifications include LabVIEW Core 1 from NI (National Instruments) in 2023, Programming Foundations: Fundamentals from LinkedIn in 2020, and Python Automation for Everyone (online course) from Udemy in 2020.
