Yongsuk Cho

Yongsuk Cho is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in manufacturing and process engineering, currently serving as the Sr. Manager at KYOCERA SLD Laser since October 2023. Prior positions include Principal Epitaxy Engineer at Coherent Corp., and various roles at IQE, including Epi Engineering Supervisor and Senior Epi Process Engineer. Yongsuk has also contributed to the field as Sr. Staff GaN EPI Development Engineer at International Rectifier, and as a Senior Research Scientist at both the University of Houston and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Early career experience includes roles at Samsung Electronics, Yale University, Research Center Juelich, and Korea Institute of Science and Technology, focusing on III-Nitride and III-V materials growth and development. Yongsuk holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Korea University and Kyonggi University, respectively.
