Ryan Grier has a strong background in software engineering, specifically in developing iOS applications. Ryan began their career at Siemens Medical Solutions, where they worked as a Software Engineer on the Soarian Financials Architecture team. Ryan then joined Comcast as an Engineer 4, where they developed Comcast's MyDVR product and built web-application test harnesses.
Ryan later moved on to NAVTEQ, where they served as a Senior Mobile Engineer, designing and developing the NAVTEQ Mapping SDK for iOS. Ryan also created iOS test harnesses for testing SDK functionality.
After NAVTEQ, Ryan worked at Barclaycard as a Mobile Engineer Technical Lead. There, they led a team in designing and developing the Mobile Payments app for iOS. Ryan also provided mobile and web-service rapid prototypes and developed Android service, analytics, and session management layers of the Barclaycard US Android servicing app.
Ryan then joined Comcast Interactive Media as a Principal iOS Engineer, leading a team in designing and developing the Xfinity Home iOS mobile app. Ryan also led efforts to design and develop 24/7 Video Recording in the iOS app and created a remote logging service for application health monitoring.
Ryan returned to Warner Bros. Digital Labs as a Software Engineer (iOS), where they contributed to the design and development of multiple iOS and tvOS apps. Notably, they led the efforts to rewrite the DramaFever tvOS app and contributed to the Boomerang - Cartoons & Movies app.
Following this, Ryan rejoined Comcast as a Principal iOS Engineer, before eventually joining Warner Bros. Digital Labs as a Senior Software Engineer (iOS). In this role, they contributed to the design and development of multiple iOS and tvOS apps and served as the lead iOS developer on projects such as DC Universe, DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, and Boomerang - Cartoons & Movies.
Most recently, Ryan joined Slice as a Staff iOS Engineer, where they contribute to the design and development of the iOS app. Ryan has led efforts to make the app ADA compliant and to identify and reduce technical debt. Ryan has also designed and implemented card scanning software using the Apple Vision Framework.
Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Objective-C, Swift, and Java, as well as utilizing frameworks such as SwiftUI, iOS 14+, RxSwift, Combine, Storyboards, and Auto Layout.
Ryan Grier attended Millersville University of Pennsylvania from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Following this, they pursued a Masters in Software Engineering at Penn State Great Valley from 2002 to 2004.
