John Amaral

John Amaral is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various companies. Currently, John serves as Co-Founder and CTO at Root.io since March 2024, and Co-Founder and CEO at Slim.AI Inc since May 2020, focusing on simplifying cloud-native application development for developers. Previously, John held significant positions such as Head of Product for Cisco Cloud Security from August 2016 to April 2020, and Head of Product at CloudLock prior to its acquisition by Cisco. Additionally, John was Senior Vice President of Product at Trustwave from August 2009 until its acquisition by Singtel in 2015, following the role of CTO & VP R&D at Vericept Corporation, which was acquired by Trustwave. Earlier career highlights include serving as CTO at NEI and Artel Video Systems. John holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
