Brian Giesen

Head of Social & Content ANZ at Sling & Stone

Brian Giesen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Brian is currently the Head of Social & Content ANZ at Sling & Stone since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Social at Atomic 212º Group from 2018 to 2021.

Brian also has experience working at Commonwealth Bank as the Social Media + Employee Advocacy Manager (Contract) from 2017 to 2018, where they refreshed and managed the bank's social media employee advocacy strategy.

Before that, they were the Senior Manager of Social & Content at eBay (Contract) from 2016 to 2017, where they headed the Social & Content team and collaborated with stakeholders to develop a strategic approach to social media marketing.

Brian also worked at The Coca-Cola Company as the Social Media Lead, Coca-Cola South Pacific (Contract) from 2015 to 2016, where they managed a team responsible for social media strategy, content creation and community management.

Earlier in their career, Brian held various positions at Ogilvy Public Relations from 1999 to 2015. Brian served as the Director of Social@Ogilvy Australia and Vice President of 360 Digital Influence. Brian provided strategic counsel, developed social media strategies, and conducted social media training for clients such as the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Furthermore, Brian has experience in the political arena, working as a Legislative Assistant for Hon. Jay W. Johnson (D-WI-08) from 1997 to 1999 and as the Field Director for Jay Johnson for Congress in 1996.

Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated expertise in social media management, content creation, strategy development, and team leadership.

Brian Giesen attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1995 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
