Patrick A. Weiss

Patrick A. Weiss is a seasoned professional in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as a Venture Partner at ARCH Venture Partners since October 2022. Weiss holds multiple leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board at Syndex Bio, Moleculent, Enumerix, and Scale Biosciences, as well as a Board Member role at Slingshot Biosciences. Previously, Weiss was the COO at Twist Bioscience from January 2014 to September 2022 and served as CEO of Operon Biotechnologies from June 2004 to March 2010. Additionally, Weiss worked as a life sciences and biotech consultant from April 2010 to December 2013 and held the position of VP Gene Silencing at QIAGEN from April 2002 to June 2004. Weiss earned a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry and Economics from ETH Zürich between 1991 and 1995, following the completion of Matura Type C in Natural Sciences at Kantonale Mittelschule Uri in Switzerland.
