Bryant Chen

Bryant Chen is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as Staff Data Scientist at Slope since January 2023, Bryant previously held the position of Technical Lead/Manager at Brex, overseeing the Credit Science team and managing credit risk models and automated underwriting systems while expanding the team size significantly. Prior to that, during tenure at IBM, Bryant led research projects that garnered multiple patents and prestigious paper awards in the fields of causal inference and deep learning. Bryant also completed a PhD in Computer Science at UCLA, focusing on causal inference methods under the guidance of renowned advisor Judea Pearl, and worked in various analytical roles, including Lead Data Scientist at Curinos and Research Assistant at Northwestern University. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Chicago.
